Five doller brews and that store Trader Joe's

Can you believe it?  My first week as a Martha Stewart Intern is over?  Yes, yes it is.  And I am shocked to see that it went by so fast, but I feel like I've been there forever!  The rest of the week went really well!  I'm getting to know my co-workers better and I've discovered a lot of new things about New York that make me love it even more!

Highlights of the week:

Getting drinks after work at McSorely's Ale House with AE:  This pub was recommended to us by one of AE's co-workers at MSW and let's just say SUCCESS.  The pub was offer only two types of Ale, light and dark, served in two half-pint mugs for only $5.  They brew the ale locally so it was fresh and unusual but mostly delicious.  The atmosphere was warm and inviting, but old and relaxed.

Going to Trader Joe's: Not once, not twice, but at least three times did I visit TJ's this week.  It is a wonderland of private label snacks, drinks, frozen meals and more all at rock bottom prices.  AE and I stocked up on delicious vegan pad thai and other delicious frozen meals (at around $3 each) to save money during our lunch hour.  Needless to say, I am addicted to TJ's and will make many, many more visits this summer.  And PLEASE watch this great video.  It really captures the magic of TJ's.

Dinner at The Frying Pan: On our first day at MSLO we probably heard people mention The Frying Pan like one hundred times each.  And the veggie burgers you can get there.  So we had to check it out and again, it didn't disappoint. It was packed full as we stepped up to the bar to give our order.  We ended up sharing a veggie burger and a goat cheese salad.  Ten minutes later our numbers were called and we had a predicament.  No tables were to be found.  Minutes later, as we perched on a plant stand, the manager approached and had a table brought down for us.  After that it was great, although the rocking of the boat did make us a little loopy!

I'm sure there is more, but this post is really long already, so I will end it here.  I'm currently on a STAYCATION this weekend, so look forward to that post.
